Summer of 2020, in the wake of the pandemic – rediscovering my hometown of Annapolis, Maryland.
I have always loved where I live, but I also love to explore and travel. The unusual circumstances of 2020 left me locked down in my home state without many businesses, museums, or entertainment options open. I set out to develop a new appreciation for my little corner of the world.
In the spring of 2020, we spent loads of time in our large backyard; I learned to throw an axe, the little kids climbed everything and we had many nights at the fire pit with hot dogs, s’mores and good vino. It was truly a special time with my family. When the temperature and humidity went up, the Maryland mosquitoes came out, and we spent many long mornings on the boat fishing then retreated to blissful afternoons at the pool. All in all, there is no way I could complain.
I really started missing cultural arts, museums, live music and performances. In the quest to fill those gaps, I started taking note of the gorgeous art that exists in the open, all around Annapolis.
Have you ever seen all of the murals in Annapolis?! There are some AMAZING works of art. I had the best time driving around documenting all of these gorgeous paintings from diverse artists.
See them for yourself! The locations of my mural finds and a driving ‘tour’ are in a google link at the bottom of this post. Check them out and let me know what you think!
